Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan Suman Yojana 2023

As you know that pregnant women and newborn babies need more protection at the time of delivery. Therefore, under PM Surakshit Matritva Assurance Yojana 2023, pregnant women will get the benefit of free health facilities after 6 months of delivery and sick newborn babies. Objective of Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan Suman Yojana

There are many such women in the country who, due to lack of money, are not able to fulfill their needs during pregnancy and are not able to buy medicines even when their husbands fall ill, due to which many times the mother and child die. Keeping this in mind, the Government of India has started this Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan Suman Scheme. The Central Government says that with the launch of this scheme, the maternal and child mortality rate in the country will be reduced. Under this scheme, 100% delivery should be ensured under the supervision of hospitals or trained nurses and to provide maximum facilities to all pregnant women.

Health facilities under Safe Motherhood Assurance Suman Yojana

Under the Safe Motherhood Assurance Suman Yojana, the following facilities will be made available to pregnant women and their newborn babies: –

  • zero dose vaccination
  • Timely resolution of complaints
  • Facility of free transportation from health institution to home after discharge
  • Providing birth registration certificate of the child from the health institution
  • Free transportation from home to health institution
  • Safe Motherhood Booklet and Mother and Child Protection Card
  • Deliveries by train personnel
  • Free and Zero Expense Access for Identification and Management of Maternal Complications
  • Elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV, HBV and syphilis

Benefits of Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan Suman Yojana

  • Under the scheme , there will be at least four prenatal checkups, all expenses for which will be borne by the government.
  • Pregnant women will be provided complete treatment for the first 6 months. There will be a check up during the first trimester.
  • Under this scheme, iron folic acid supplementation will have to be done, the entire responsibility of this will be on the hospital.
  • Along with this, women will also be vaccinated against tetanus and diphtheria so that pregnant women do not suffer from any disease.
  • Under Surakshit Matritva Aashwasan Suman Yojana 2023, pregnant women will also be provided free transportation facility from home to hospital.
  • Women will be provided free facility of C-section due to complications during pregnancy.
  • Free health benefits will be provided to women and babies for 6 months after delivery.
  • Under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Abhiyan (Pardhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Yojana 2020), at least one checkup, iron folic acid supplement, tetanus diphtheria injection and other components of the comprehensive ANC package and six home-based newborn care.
